Kathmandu, July 28 : A joint task-force comprising Nepal Transport Entrepreneurs Association and Transport Workers’ Association has urged the government to create favourable environment to resume the long route public transport service.
Issuing a press release yesterday, the task-force asked the government to facilitate the resumption of such service by adopting the necessary health and safety protocol against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Passengers are facing trouble to travel due to the latest decision of allowing only public vehicles within a district.
Transport entrepreneurs association general secretary Saroj Sitaula argued that the transport entrepreneurs should be given permission to resume the public transport as private vehicles are carrying passengers charging high fare. The long route transport service has come to a halt since March 24 when the lockdown was imposed to stem the pandemic.
