Gaighat, March 25: The state-owned Udayapur Cement Factory has made a leap forward in cement production in the last one-and-a-half years.
The factory is producing 18,000 sacks of blocks of cement a day with the smooth supply of power since a week.
According to Nawal Kishore Saha, factory’s acting general manager, the production output of the factory had slumped due to an unstable power supply from Dhanusha-Dhalkebar transmission center during the period from mid-January to February-end this year.
He further shared the industry is daily producing over 800 metric tons of cement following the smooth supply of power. With this, the factory is making the annual transaction of billions of rupees.
Though daily production capacity of the factory is 800 metric tons, the frequent disruption of power has not enabled the environment for the factory to go for full-fledged output, said the factory administration.
As the power went smooth, the industry was daily producing cement worth amounting to Rs 30 million, the administration shared. RSS
