China willing to operate direct air services between Chengdu and Bhairawaha

Butwal, January 16 : Ambassador of China to Nepal, Hou Yanqi, has said that her country is willing to operate direct air services between the Chinese city of Chengdu (the capital of Sichuan province )and the Nepali city of Bhairawaha.“Bhaiwaha is situated in Lumbini zone which is a major destination for Chinese visitors. As such, the Chinese government is keen to collaborate with Nepal to link Bhairawaha and Chendu of Sichuan Province via air. This will also help further the relations between State 5 of Nepal and Sichuan province of China,” she said during a meeting with State 5 chief minister Shankar Pokharel held here yesterday.In his response, Pokharel expressed hope that the operation of air services between the two cities will help promote the tourism of his state by assuring he would take initiations to materialize this.  .Recalling his visit to Sichuan province some months back on which occasion he had held discussions regarding new technology in agriculture with the agriculture scientists there, the Chief Minister urged the Chinese ambassador to extend cooperation in technology transfer by bringing the agriculture scientists and experts from Sichuan to Nepal.He also stated that the experience of China’s Sichuan province regarding agriculture commercialization and industrial development would also be useful for State-5.
