Kathmandu, September 24 : Dabur Nepal Pvt. Ltd and International Center for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with an aim to contribute towards sustainable mountain development through responsible business practices. As per the deal, the two organisations would forge a collaboration on areas of mutual interests through a principle of partnership based on synergy, equity, mutual trust, and transparency.
Dr. David MOlden, Director General of ICIMOD and mr. H.S. Bedi, Business head SAARC of Dabur signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations. Deputy Director General Dr. Eklabya Sharma, Director-Strategic coorperation Mr. Basant Shrestha, Director Administration and Finance Mr. Shekhar Ghimire from ICIMOD and Dr. Pankaj Prasad Raturi HOD-AGRO business from Dabur were present during the MoU signing ceremony which was held recently at ICIMOD office in Lalitpur.
The partnership focuses on various components like Partnership and regional cooperation, livelihood component covers livelihood option by promotion of bee keeping and medicinal plants agro-forestry model, research and innovation, joint activities and projects, capacity building and technology transfer, knowledge development and exchange of information and joint events.
Dabur Nepal and ICIMOD started their association in 2002 with a joint project in the field of medicinal and aromatic plants. Since then, various joint initiatives have been carried out.
