May 6 : The Department of Labour (DoL) is carrying out monitoring whether or not the hotel entrepreneurs have given salary for the Nepali month of Chaitra (March/April) to their workers and staff as directed by the government.
The Department is doing so in the wake of the growing complaints that some hotel owners are not acting as per this direction. They had agreed on this topic of salary during a meeting with the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security on Monday (May 4).
The Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) and the Joint Trade Union Coordination Committee will facilitate in the monitoring process, according to the department. Likewise, the Labour and Occupational Security Department, and the Labour and Employment Office would also be involved in it.
