Nawalparasi, April 12: Illegal mining and extraction of river products have continued unabated in the Narayani River from Nawalparasi side. Locals complained that the concerned authority is exercising silence even when the river products are being unlawfully extracted and exported to India. The illegally mined river products are being supplied to India due to the open border. The smugglers are taking out river products such as pebbles, gravels and sand every day despite legal restriction in doing so, complained Suraj Kewat, a local.
