Kathmandu, January 17: Minister for Energy, Hydropower and Irrigation, Barsha Man Pun, has said the government has begun the process of feasibility study of Madi hydropower project.
He came with such remarks while inaugurating a contact office of the project at Madichaur of the Rolpa district yesterday. “With the establishment of this office, the process of feasibility study of this reservoir-type project has begun.”
The HIDCL from Nepal and Power China from China have already made an agreement to construct this project with a capacity to generate 156 MW of electricity.
According to Minister Pun, it would take eighteen months to complete the detailed project report of the project.
“Since the project is a reservoir one, the water from it would also be used for irrigation in Dang district. So, it could well be a game-changer for State-5.
