Kathmandu, August 17–Federation of Handicraft Associations of Nepal (FHAN) is organizing and international handicraft conference as well as the 37th annual general meeting of the World Crafts Council-Asia Pacific Region (WCC-APR) from August 30 in the capital.
Holding a press conference on August 16, the FHAN informed that the prime aim of the seminar is to promote handicraft market and exchange the related skills and technology. “The three-day event will also see discussions and deliberations among the concerned experts on viable ways to enhance handicraft products in the entire Asia Pacific region,” stated Dharmaraj Shakya, President, FHAN.
During the conference, there is a plan to declare Lalitpur district as a ‘Cultural City. The conference will be participated in by 100 representatives from various countries.
According to the FHAN, the country is exporting handicraft products worth Rs 12 billion annually
