Bhaktapur, March 2: ‘Heritage March-2020’ is going to be organized for the first time with the objective of developing the Madhyapur Thimi area as a popular destination for both domestic and foreign tourists.

In collaboration with the Madhyapur Thimi Municipality and Nepal Tourism Board, Osla Nepal will conduct this promotion program from March 14 with the slogan ‘Our Heritages, Our Recognition’ on the occasion of Visit Nepal Year-2020.

Mayor of the municipality, Madan Sundar Shrestha, said the rally would start from Shankhadhar Chowk and conclude by reaching Nilbarahi Temple after visiting different heritages including Tachhatole, Bishnubir, Balkumari, Bamunetole, Lachhitole, Lokeshwor Temple, Kalika Temple, Mahalaxmi, Khansi Barahi Debu and Tigani.

He opined that the very initiative would help to attract a large number of domestic and foreign tourists in the Madhyapur Thimi area. Out of 18 municipalities in the Kathmandu Valley, the area is at the forefront in terms of protection and promotion of the heritage, art, and culture.

Similarly, Chairman of Osla Nepal, Roshan Bajracharya, shared that the heritage rally was going to be organized with the participation of different organizations working for identifying cultural, historical and tourism destinations of Madhyapur Thimi.

Foreign delegates, domestic and foreign tourists, different organizations, local communities, and media personnel would participate in the march at the initiative of the Nepal Tourism Board VNY-2020 Secretariat, Hotel Association of Nepal, he added. RSS
