Nepal’s imports Nepal’s imports and exports have increased in the first ten months of the current fiscal year in compare to the previous year as imports have increased by 27.95 percent in the first ten months of the current fiscal year.
As of April / May of the current Fiscal Year, Nepal has imported goods worth Rs. 1.6 trillion. Such imports stood at Rs. 1.2 trillion in the corresponding period of the previous year.
Exports also increased by 59.80 percent during the review period. According to the customs department, Nepal has exported 173.34 billion goods in 10 months. In the corresponding period of the previous year, Nepal had exported 108.47 billion rupees.
At the same time, Nepal’s 10-month trade deficit has increased by 24.94 percent. In terms of amount, the trade deficit has reached 1.431 trillion. In the corresponding period of the previous year, the trade deficit was only 1.145 trillion
The share of imports in Nepal’s total foreign trade is 90.25 percent and the share of exports is 9.75 percent.
