Khasyouli, September 4 : An agreement has been reach between the Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City and the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID) for Nepal Urban Resilience Consolidation Project. UK Secretary of State for International Development Rory Stewart signed the MoU on the behalf of the British government while Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City Mayor Shivaraj Subedi signed for the urban programming.
On the occasion, Stewart said the safe shelter, clean drinking water and clean roads among others were daily needs for humans which should be ensured to all those migrating to Butwal due to natural disaster and for employment opportunities.
Stating that environment conservation and greenery were essential for any city, he underscored huge investment for the sustainable development of a city like Butwal. Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City’s Mayor Subedi expressed his confidence that agreement made with DFID would contribute to achieving the periodic and strategic goals of Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City. The Project would run through five years. RSS
