Nepal Infrastructure Bank receives operating license

Kathmandu February 11: Nepal Infrastructure Bank Limited has today received an operating license to conduct financial transactions from the central bank. The bank has been jointly established by the government of Nepal along with various commercial banks, insurance companies, microfinance, private companies and group of business entrepreneurs of Nepal.

Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, Dr. Chiranjibi Nepal issued the said license to the bank as a national level Infrastructure Development Bank on 2075/10/28.

The bank has the authorized capital of Rs 40 billion, issued capital of Rs 20 billion and paid up capital of Rs.12 billion. The investment proportion of the bank include 10% from the Government of Nepal and 90% from private sector.

The prime objective of the bank is to play vital role in the infrastructure development of the nation more specifically in the areas of transportation, agriculture, energy, tourism, SEZ, advanced urbanization Iinfrastructure and information technology.
