Kathmandu, February 3 : Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has increased the price of petroleum products from Saturday midnight (February 2). As per the new price adjustment coming into effect from this midnight, price of petrol will cost Rs 110, an increment of Rs 2.25. Likewise, price of diesel has surged by Rs 4.28 to Rs 97 per liter. Kerosene’s price has been adjusted to Rs 97 per liter. The NOC has not increased the price of cooking gas, however.
On February 1, the Indian Oil Corporation sent the new price list to the NOC, said the NOC Spokesperson Birendra Goit, adding that the price adjustment follows a government’s provision to adjust price of petroleum products in every fortnight. The NOC however missed the price adjustment the previous time due to various reasons, said Goit.
With the new price adjustment, the state-owned oil corporation could earn a profit of approximately Rs 1.16 billion in a period of 15 days, said a NOC official. RSS
