Kathmandu, September 10 : The prohibitory order imposed in the Kathmandu valley in order to to stem the COVID-19 pandemic has been relaxed from today.
A meeting of Chief Districts Officers of the three districts in the valley-Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur- held yesterday decided to relax the very three-week long order by announcing some measures.
Such measures are as follows:
-The private vehicles will be allowed ply the roads by following an odd-even system based on the date of Nepali month starting Thursday.
-Only large public vehicles with more than 16-passenger capacity will be allowed to ply with only half of its passenger’s capacity and the taxis will be permitted to carry only two passengers.
-Shopping malls, clothing stores and cosmetic shops will remain open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays while utensil stores and those selling kitchen items will be allowed to do businesses on Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
– Vehicle workshops can be operated from 8:00 am to 8:00pm.
– Service of take-away foods will be available from midday to 7:00pm.
-There will be no restrictions on pharmacies, services related to medical equipment and other essentials services.
