Kathmandu, September 9 : In a bid to help revitalise the tourism industry crippled badly by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has formed a ‘Tourism Revival Taskforce’.
The taskforce, which comprises of representatives from the government, NTB and private sector, is based on a public- private partnership (PPP) model. It aims at bringing all the organizations working in the tourism industry together for the revival of the industry at the earliest.
The taskforce is mandated to suggest strategic plans to help reinvogorate the ailing Nepali tourism by throughly assessing the impacts of the pandemic on it .
The industry is estimated to be bearing the loss of $83 million each month due to the coronavirus crisis.
