Kathmandu, November 28: Nepal Telecom has agreed to provide soccer equipment worth Rs 3.2 million to the Nepal Police. An agreement has been reached between the NTC and the police in this regard amid a function here on Wednesday (Nov 27).
Inspector-General of Police Sarbendra Khanal and NTC managing director Dilliram Adhikari signed the deal. This agreement is a continuation of the state-owned telecommunication service provider providing financial help every year to Nepal Police Club, a football club from the Nepal Police, since 2068 BS in a mutual agreement.
In the initial days, Rs 1.6 million had been provided under this agreement. As per the one-year deal, players, men, and women, from Nepal Police Club have to play wearing gears printed with the NTC logo. Addressing the event, IGP Khanal said the deal would help take football to additional heights.
He also recognized the sport as making nationality known, urging football players from Nepal Police Club to show their excellent performance and win the upcoming 13th South Asian Games. Similarly, NTC managing director Adhikari believed that the agreement would help make football players from Nepal Police Club more professional and responsible and help develop and strengthen service of the telecommunication company additionally.
