The national ID card distribution will be reached out to local levels, it was informed. The program is coming into effect in Chitwan, Lalitpur, Rasuwa, Tanahun, Kanchanpur, Jumla and Saptari districts. It was also shared that the form fill-up for national ID cards was taking place from all 98 wards of Chitwan. The process is also taken ahead for recruiting 117 employees for the same purpose.

The government has expedited this task to prepare national ID cards within two years. Department Director Shivaraj Joshi said the task is to be made effective in seven out of 15 select districts in the first phase. He informed that the national ID card contains all details of an individual. The details will be collected based on the citizenship certificate.

In case of the citizenship issued from other districts, the details of the individual will be collected based on the recommendations of the local level, the Department said. A total of 117,000 employees working in different ministries in the main administrative building, Singha Durbar, and Panchthar district have so far received national ID cards. RSS
