Dhangadhi, February 9: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai has pledged to initiate the expansion of Dhangadhi Airport as per the master plan. At a program organized to share the master plan of Dhangadhi Airport here yesterday, Minister Bhattarai proposed for the partnership for investment from Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City and Godabari Municipality.
He also convinced the locals to put their feedback to give a final touch to the master plan. Saying that the government has the policy to expand the airports existed in the capital of the states, Minister Bhattarai added that the task is in the top priority of the government.
On the occasion, Minister Bhattarai also said that resumption of Tikapur Airport of Kailali and Majhgaun Airport of Kanchanpur is also in the priority. As mentioned in the proposed 20-year master plan, nearly 227 bighas of land is required for the expansion of the Dhangadhi Airport. It is said that some portion of land needs to be acquired for this.-
