Kathmandu, July 13: Mayur Yatayat Company has resumed its bus services from today in the Kathmandu valley. This came at a time when other public transportation service providers in the valley are refraining from operating their vehicles due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The company said that three buses were brought into operation in the capital to facilitate the general commuters for mobility in the prevailing critical situation.
According to company’s proprietor Deepak Bhandari, the buses will run along the Kathmandu-Banepa section and Ring Road in Kathmandu valley. The company has promised to expand its service very soon.
The government last Wednesday (July 8) had decided to resume the public transportation servicesin the valley by adopting the precaution measures. However, most of the public transportation entrepreneurs denied the decision citing the risks of the spread of coronavirus.
Since March 24 when the national lockdown was announced, the operations of the public transportation have come to a halt. This is severely hamstringing the general public from travelling to meet their urgent needs.
