Kathmandu, July 22 : The government has officially lifted the national lockdown, which was imposed on March 24 to check the spread of COVID-19, from Tuesday midnight (July 21) .
The information was shared by government spokesperson Dr Yubaraj Khatiwada at a press meet held at the Ministry of Information and Communications yesterday.
With the lifting of the restrictions, the public transports will come into operations and businesses will also be allowed to operate 24/7. Similarly, there will be no two shifts for government offices and odd-even rules for private vehicles
The government has also allowed hotels and restaurants to run from July 30 by observing the necessary health protocol. Similarly, the trekking and mountaineering activities will also be permitted from that day.
Nevertheless, the government has decided to continue to put some prohibitory measures in place as part of stemming the coronavirus pandemic. For instance, educational institutions will remain closed until further decision is taken. Likewise, mass gathering, feast, party and seminar will not be allowed.
