Lahachok substation has been inaugurated under New Modi (Mountain) -Lekhnath (Kaski) 132 kV Double Circuit Transmission Line Project.

Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal on Monday inaugurated 132 Lahachok substations constructed in Machhapuchche Gaonpalika-4 of Kaski under the project.

The substation has 132/33 kV, 30 MVA and 33/11 KV, 8 MVA power transformers. The substation has a 33 kV line bay and four 11 kV feeders for the local power supply.

Under the new Modi-Lekhnath Transmission Line Project, the construction of 132 kV transmission line from the substation at Modi Gaonpalika-2 Deupur in Parbat to Lahachok has been completed and has come into operation. The new Modi 132 kV switching station is connected to the Lahachok substation national grid through Modi Hydropower Station. Hemja 33/11 KV substation will also be connected from the substation.

Electricity supply has been provided to Machhapuchhre, Annapurna village municipality and Pokhara metropolis of Kaski from Lahachok substation. As a result, the power supply in the area has become quality and reliable. As the power supply line from Pokhara to the area was long, there were problems like tripping and low voltage. Now with the supply from Lahachok substation, the electricity service of the area has been improved and consumers have got reliable and quality electricity. Technical leakage of electricity has also decreased.

Construction of a new Modi-Lekhnath transmission line project has been started to improve power supply in Parbat, Kaski, and other districts and to provide electricity to hydropower projects to be constructed in Modi, Seti, Madi and Sardi rivers. The project with a total estimated cost of Rs.
