Kathmandu, December 9 : The government has granted electricity generation licence to various 11 hydropower projects in the past five months.
The licensed hydropower projects have a total capacity of 1387 megawatts. A total of 190 hydropower projects with a total capacity of 7263 megawatts have obtained electricity generation license so far, according to data with the Department of Electricity Development.
They include Tila-1 (440 MW), Tila-2 (420 MW), Manang Marsyangdi Hydropower Project (282 MW), Lower Manang Marsyangdi Hydroelectric Project (140 MW), Hewa A (5 MW), Upper Fawa (5.8 MW), Hadi Khola (0.97 MW), Super Aankhukhola Hydropower Project, Nilgiri Khola (62 MW) and Tauthali Khola (0.95 MW).
