Instruction for timely construction of Nijgadh International Airport

Kathmandu, December 19 : The National Assembly’s National Stakeholder and Coordination Committee has issued instructions to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation for the timely completion of the construction of Nijgadh International Airport.
The Committee made this move after conducting a detailed study, discussions with the stakeholders and observation of the under-construction second international airport of the country at Nijgadh in Bara district.
Making the Ministry aware about the issues surfacing during the construction process, the Committee has also directed the Ministry not to let any obstructions hinder the construction process under any pretext.
Committee’s President Dil Kumar Rawal Thapa in today’s meeting of the Committee in Kathmandu shared that locals of Taangiya Basti, Kaathgaun Basti, which was demarcated for the runway of the airport in the sketch, were ready to relocate to another places for facilitating the construction of the Airport.
Furthermore, the Committee has issued directive to prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR) and get it approved within this fiscal year. Instructions also include determining and managing the place to relocate the locals of Tangiya Basti. RSS
