The government has decided to accept around Rs 1.2 billion in grants through the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to be received from the Global Environment Facility (GEF).

Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma shared this information at a news conference organized on Friday to release the decisions made by the Council of Ministers on Thursday.

The cabinet has also decided to reimburse Rs 2.83 million to the stakeholders which was spent to send the dead bodies of six Nepalis killed in Israel to their home from Tribhuvan International Airport, Minister Sharma said.

According to Minister Sharma, the cabinet meeting approved the scheduled visits of National Planning Commission Member Prof Dr Shiva Raj Adhikari to Bangladesh and a member of the Commission of Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Dr Sumitra Shrestha Amatya to Malaysia for different dates.

Similarly, the visit of Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Shakti Bahadur Basnet to Bali of Indonesia to attend the 10th World Water Forum has been approved. 

Minister Sharma said that approval has been given to the concerned side to acquire 50 ropani of land in Surkhet and Dailekh districts for the development of towers for the Kohalpur-Surkhet-Dailekh 132 KV transmission line.
