During the discussions, CNI President Rajesh Kumar Agrawal urged the ambassadors to prioritize fostering international economic relations through diplomatic efforts. He emphasized the need to attract foreign investors at the ambassadorial level to mobilize capital for Nepal.

President Agrawal recommended that the government implement a dedicated economic strategy to boost exports. He also proposed assigning a focal person in every Nepali embassy to assist the foreign investment community in exploring opportunities in Nepal.

Expressing optimism, he highlighted that Nepal’s improved country rating could attract more foreign investment. He called on the proposed ambassadors to ensure continued international support for Nepal as it transitions from a least developed country to a middle-income developing country.

Acting Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai encouraged the ambassadors to strengthen ties with investor communities in their respective countries and promote Nepali exports, goods, and services.

In response, the ambassador nominees committed to addressing Nepal’s trade deficit, promoting Nepali products, and encouraging investment in key sectors such as tourism, information technology, industrial development, and hydropower infrastructure.

The dialogue included proposed ambassadors Dr. Shankar Sharma, Sewa Lamsal, Chitralekha Yadav, Chandra Kumar Ghimire, Dr. Sumnina Tuladhar, Dr. Jung Bahadur Chauhan, Prof. Kapilman Shrestha, Prakashmani Paudel, Dr. Shibamaya Tumbahamphe, Dr. Purna Bahadur Nepali, and Dr. Netra Prasad Timsina.
