Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has issued a global tender for the secure printing and supply of 420 million pieces of Rs. 50 banknotes.
In a public notice released today, the central bank invited international bids to print the notes securely. The tender will follow a single-stage, two-envelope system, requiring both a technical proposal and a financial proposal.
The Currency Management Department of the NRB stated that the required budget for this task has already been allocated.
According to the tender notice, the price of the bidding documents is fixed at NPR 20,000. For foreign bidders, the document fees are set at USD 146, EUR 126, and GBP 109 respectively.
Interested companies must deposit the bid fee into NRB’s Thapathali branch account. The submission deadline for the tender is Bhadra 23, 2082 (September 8, 2025).
The submitted bids must remain valid for at least 120 days, and bidders are also required to include a bank guarantee of at least NPR 40 million.
NRB has also stated that it reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids without assigning any reason.
