Four industries in Rupandehi that previously consumed electricity through dedicated and trunk lines have cleared the first installment of their long-pending premium dues. After the payment, the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has restored power supply to these industries, which had been disconnected earlier.
According to NEA Managing Director Manoj Silwal, Panchakanya Plastic Industry, Panchakanya Steel Industries, Siddhartha Pet Plant, and Shyam Plastic paid the initial installment of the outstanding premium charges. The dues relate to the use of dedicated and trunk electricity lines between January 2016 and April 2018.
As per NEA, Panchakanya Plastic owed Rs 2.463 million, Panchakanya Steel Rs 5.219 million, Siddhartha Pet Plant Rs 18.3 million, and Shyam Plastic Rs 4.91 million. The total dues have been divided into 28 installments, of which the first has now been paid by all four industries.
