Gold and silver prices have once again climbed to their highest levels on record today.
The Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association reported that after rising by Rs. 1,800 per tola on Tuesday, the price of gold has increased by an additional Rs. 1,500 per tola today. With this latest rise, gold now costs Rs. 278,000 per tola — the highest price ever recorded.
On Monday, gold had surged by Rs. 4,100 per tola, and on Tuesday it went up by Rs. 1,800 per tola to reach Rs. 276,500 per tola. The price had also increased by Rs. 2,800 per tola on Sunday, and by Rs. 2,100 per tola the preceding Friday.
After falling for two straight days on Wednesday and Thursday, gold prices have been on a continuous upward trend since Friday. Over the past five days, gold has risen by a total of Rs. 12,300 per tola.
Silver has followed a similar trend, reaching its highest-ever price today as well. With an increase of Rs. 315 per tola, silver now stands at Rs. 5,655 per tola, setting a new record high.
