Chief of the Statistics Coordination Office Birgunj, Pushkar Bijukchhe, stated that several large industries in Parsa have not been providing the necessary information requested by census enumerators.

“We have deployed enumerators with official letters to large industrial establishments in Parsa. However, we are still facing difficulties in obtaining the required data from them,” he said. “We are preparing to discuss the list of industries that failed to provide the information during the review meeting scheduled for Jestha 7.”

President of the Birgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Hariprasad Gautam, claimed that industrialists and business operators are willing to cooperate by providing the necessary information for the government’s economic census.

“The office has not coordinated with us regarding which industries failed to provide the required data for the economic census,” Gautam said. “If the concerned office requests support from the Chamber, we are always ready to coordinate and even issue formal letters urging industrial establishments to participate in the census process.”

The Statistics Coordination Office Birgunj aims to conduct an economic census of 23,300 establishments across Parsa district. As of Monday, the office reported that the census had been completed for 14,156 establishments.

According to the office, 66 enumerators and nine supervisors are currently deployed for the economic census campaign.
