Nepal’s stock market rebounded on Tuesday after falling for two consecutive sessions, with the NEPSE index rising 11.96 points to close at 2,578.73.
Most subgroups posted gains, while microfinance and non-life insurance were the only sectors to decline. The Trading subgroup recorded the highest gain, increasing by 0.82 percent.
Share prices of 169 companies increased, led by Trishuli Hydropower, which gained 5.11 percent. Shares of 95 companies declined, while 15 remained unchanged. Sarbottam Paints recorded the biggest loss, falling 4.94 percent.
Despite the rise in the index, market turnover declined. Shares worth Rs 3.1381 billion were traded on Tuesday, compared with Rs 3.27 billion on Monday.
Ghalemdi Hydropower recorded the highest turnover at Rs 239.1 million, followed by Liberty Energy with Rs 139.1 million.
