CIAA Chief insists on combined efforts to stop corruption

Pokhara, October 10 :Chief Commissioner of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Nabin Kumar Ghimire, has insisted on the need of integrated efforts to stop corruption.
Laying a foundation stone of a building of the CIAA Pokhara Office amidst a programme here today, the CIAA Chief said good governance was vital to make the delivery of State facilities meant for its citizen effective. As he said, complaints were high about economic irregularities at local levels. “None is allowed to indulge in corruption in the name transition period.”
Stating that the CIAA was actively working to curb corruption, he said quality, transparency and rule of law issues in the development projects were being investigated.
CIAA Secretary Maheshwor Neupane said physical infrastructure and human resources required at province levels had been managed to operate the CIAA as per the federal structure, describing corruption a barrier to any sorts of progress.
According to CIAA Pokhara Office Chief Kashiraj Dahal, a contract for the building construction project was signed at the cost of Rs 147.2 million. RSS
