After rising continuously for the past six days, the price of gold in Nepal has seen a significant drop today.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, both gold and silver prices have declined. The price of gold has fallen by Rs. 2,400 per tola (approximately 11.66 grams) today.
With the drop, gold is now being traded at Rs. 195,200 per tola. Just yesterday, the price had increased by Rs. 2,100, reaching Rs. 197,600 per tola.
The price decline comes after a steady rise from last Thursday through Wednesday. On Baisakh 9 (April 21), the price of gold had reached Rs. 197,900 per tola — the highest ever recorded in Nepal.
In contrast, the price of silver has increased slightly today. Silver rose by Rs. 15 per tola and is now trading at Rs. 2,235, according to the Federation.
