Individual taxpayers will no longer need to visit tax offices to obtain a personal tax clearance certificate, as the Ministry of Finance (MoF) has begun issuing the certificate through an online system for the general public.
According to a ministry official, individuals earning up to Rs 4 million annually and working in a single organisation are now eligible to receive their tax clearance certificate online. Until now, this service was available only to entrepreneurs in certain categories.
To access the service, individuals must log in to the ‘Taxpayer Portal’ available on the Inland Revenue Department’s website (www.ird.gov.np). By submitting their Personal Account Number (PAN), name, password, and other required details, taxpayers can obtain their tax clearance certificate without visiting any tax office.
