Nepal welcomed 92,573 foreign tourists in January 2026, marking a 15.7 percent increase compared to the same month in 2025, according to the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).

Indian tourists accounted for the largest number of visitors, with 26,624 arrivals in January. Other notable arrivals included 9,101 tourists from China, 8,406 from the USA, and 4,957 from Australia.

Regional trends show that SAARC countries contributed 39.3 percent of total visitors during the period. Tourists from other Asian countries made up 26.1 percent, while Europe accounted for 12.3 percent, the Americas 10.8 percent, and Oceania 5.7 percent.
