Nepal’s mountaineering tourism highlighted  at ‘Mountain World’ festival in Germany

Kathmandu, March 3: Mountain World’ festival has been organized at Cologne city of Germany with the objective of bringing in foreign tourists by publishing Nepal’s touristic heritages on Monday (March 2).

It was held on the occasion of the special day of the International Art and Culture Museum. The festival featured stalls providing information about tourism destinations, art, and culture of different countries including Nepal as well as the lifestyle of mountainous areas, Nepal’s different mountains, and trekking routes.

Documentaries of touristic heritages of different countries including Nepal, Vietnam, Mongolia, Germany, Austria, Peru, Namibia, India and Iran were screened in the festival organized at the coordination of German-Nepal Friendship Association and Consulate General of Nepal in Cologne. The festival is organized every two years and matters of mountaineering tourism of Nepal were given high priority this year.

On the occasion, Chairperson of the German-Nepal Friendship Association, Ram Pratap Thapa said that such type of festivals would help promote tourism in Nepal. Similarly, Executive member of the Nepal Tourism Board, Awadhesh Kumar Das sheds light on the beauty of touristic destinations of all seven states of Nepal. The Nepali dishes were offered to participants as well as dances portraying different cultures and costumes of all seven states of Nepal were presented during the program. More than 1,000 people had participated in the festival.
