Gold and silver prices in Nepal have continued to fall significantly today.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of gold dropped by Rs. 12,500 per tola, bringing it down to Rs. 282,000.
Last Friday, gold had already decreased by Rs. 7,800 per tola, settling at Rs. 294,500. The downward trend had begun earlier, with prices falling by Rs. 5,400 on Thursday and Rs. 2,200 on Wednesday.
In total, gold prices have declined by Rs. 27,900 per tola over the past four days.
Previously, on Magh 15, gold prices had surged by Rs. 20,500 in a single day, reaching Rs. 339,300 per tola—the highest ever recorded in the Nepali market.
Silver prices have also dropped today by Rs. 355 per tola, bringing the current price to Rs. 4,540.
This follows earlier declines of Rs. 115 on Friday, Rs. 140 on Thursday, and Rs. 185 on Wednesday.
On Magh 18, silver experienced its largest-ever drop of Rs. 1,565 per tola. Earlier, on Magh 15, silver had reached its all-time high of Rs. 7,505 per tola.
