Govt to mark 2080s as tourism decade

The government is going to celebrate this decade of 2080 BS as Nepal Tourism Decade and celebrate the year 2025 AD as a special tourism year.

President Ram Chandra Paudel, while presenting the government’s annual policies and programs for the next fiscal year, FY 2023/24, announced that the 2080s decade will be celebrated as the decade of visiting Nepal.

“The 2080s BS will be celebrated as the decade of visiting Nepal. The year 2025 AD will be celebrated as a special tourism year,” said President Paudel.

The government has said that it will also invite famous personalities of international level to promote tourism. Similarly, he said that a program of honoring climbers of Mt Everest will be conducted in various categories for the promotion of tourism. 

President Paudel said that he will emphasize on tourism promotion by inviting famous people at the international level for tourism promotion. The government has also announced that the foreign nationals who promote Nepal at the international level will be given special honors.

Similarly, the government has announced to restructure the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) as well. President Paudel said that domestic and international airports and terminal buildings will be upgraded. Stating that the air standards will be strictly followed, Paudel announced that international connectivity will be expanded by signing air agreements with new countries.
