May 24 : The total number of non-resident Nepalis (NRNs) who died of coronavirus in different countries across the globe has so far reached 117.
According to the Non-Resident Nepalese Association (NRNA),of the total of these people, as many as 65 lost their lives in the UK alone. Similarly, 18 NRNs died in the United Arab Emirates, 16 in the USA, seven in Saudi Arabia, three in Nepal and one each in Qatar, Ireland, Japan, Turkey, Netherlands, Bahrain, Sweden and Kuwait respectively. Among the deceased, 95 are males and 19 females.
It may be noted that 21 NRNs had lost their lives in the past one week alone due to the deadly disease. Of them, nine are from UAE, five from Saudi Arabia, two each from UK and Nepal and one each in the USA, Qatar and Kuwait.
Meanwhile, a total of 12,821 NRNs are found to have so far contracted the virus across the world. Qatar has the highest number of these people at 6,911 followed by the USA at 1,600, the UK at 1,230, and Saudi Arabia at 1,364 , states the NRNA.
