May 31 : The total number of Nepalis who died of coronavirus outside Nepal has so far reached 121, according to the Non-Resident Nepalis Association (NRNA). Out of them, as many as 66 lost their lives in the UK alone. Similarly, 19 died in the UAE and 17 in the USA, 8 in Saudi Arabia, 3 in Bahrain, 2 in Kuwati and one each in Qatar, Ireland, Japan, Turkey, the Netherlands and Sweden.
Till date, the number the NRNs contracting the deadly disease in 34 countries around the globe has totaled 14,425. Of the infected,45,000 have already been recovered.
Meanwhile, the NRNA has welcomed the decision of the government to rescue Nepalis who are stranded in different countries as a result of the COVID-19 pademic. The NRNA Chair Kumar Pant aid that the NRNA was ready to provide all possible support to the concerned authorities in this regard.
