Kathmandu, July 12 : A total of 1,414 Nepali migrant workers were repatriated from different countries on Saturday (July 11) in 16 chartered flights carried out the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), Himalaya Airlines and others, the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) Office said.

The NAC aircraft brought 262 from Doha and 149 Nepalis from Dubai, UAE. Similarly, Himalaya Airlines evacuated 153 passengers from Dammam and 151 from Abu Dhabi. The TIA Office said that NAC aircraft have flown to Bahrain and Narita on Saturday itself while the aircraft of Himalaya Airlines have left for Dammam, Kuala Lumpur and Manila of the Philippines to take Nepali passengers from there.

The TIA Office said that Fly Dubai brought 172 passengers from Dubai, Air Arabia evacuated 161 Nepalis from Sharjah, Jazeera Air repatriated 160 Nepalis from Kuwait and Etihad Airways brought 140 from Abu Dhabi. Similarly, Turkish Airlines evacuated 33 Nepalis from Istanbul, according to a statement released by the TIA Office. Likewise, NAC and Himalaya Airlines are also scheduled to bring Nepalis from Bahrain, Narita, Dammam, Manila, Kuala Lumpur and Dubai on Sunday.

On Saturday, different airlines made 10 domestic chartered flights. Manang Air made a flight to Lukla, Simrik Airlines made two to Butwal and Air Dynasty made two chartered flights to Dhading. Furthermore, Kailash Helicopter and Prabhu Helicopter made two equal chartered flights to Tatopani and Pokhara, respectively.Rs
