Kathmandu, December 26 : Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) has announced that it will hold 1st Buddhist International Travel Mart (BITM) in Lumbini from January 10 to 12, 2019 .
According to the NATTA, the mart is taking place in the birthplace of Buddha (Lumbini) in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and different travel trade associations,
Some 50 buyers companies from Nepal as well as from other countries where Buddhist population is high are expected to participate in the event. As per the plan, Nepali tour operators and other service providers will showcase their tourism products and services before international and domestic buyers.
Buddhist conference, interaction programs and B2B session are the major highlights of BITM, which bears the slogan ‘Explore the Buddhaland’.
The main aim of the event is to promote Lumbini globally and capitalize upon the immense Buddhist tourism potentials Nepal as a whole posse.
Besides international buyers, the event will also see participation of travel bloggers, influences and media representatives from several countries.
Total budget of the mart is estimated at Rs 25 million. The NTB is providing Rs 10 million to the mart while NATTA will arrange the remaining funds.
