May 27 : Nepal has seen the highest single day spike in coronavirus cases with the detection of 90 new such cases on Tuesday (May 26).
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, of the newly infected patients, two each are from Mahottari and Jumla districts, three from Bara district, 22 from Rautahat district, five from Siraha district, one from Dhanusha district and eight people from Banke district.
Similarly, two people each from Arghakhanchi, Gulmi and Syangja districts, one each from Rupandehi, Kailali and Achham districts, 12 from Surkhet disrict and 26 from Kapilvastu district have also lately tested positive for COVID-19.
The required medical tests of these infected people were carried at National Public Health Laboratory, Teku; Bheri Hospital, Nepalgunj; Lumbini Hospital, Rupandehi; Seti Hospital, Dhangadhi; Laboratory at Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences; and Surkhet Hospital.
With the latest addition, the total number of coronavirus cases in the country has reached 772. Similarly, it has so far seen three fatalities and 155 recoveries from the disease.
