During the meeting with Minister for Labour, employment and Social Security, Gokarna Bista, yesterday FNCCI office-bearers said that an awareness campaign would be launched in all seven states for participation in the scheme as the programme has been implemented on the basis of tripartite consensus.

Senior Vice-President of FNCCI, Shekhar Golchha expressed commitment that the FNCCI would provide maximum support to make the social security scheme announced by the incumbent government a success. He further said that employers and organisations working for workers should hold extensive discussion regarding the benefits to be gained from the scheme for the enthusiastic participation of workers.

Similarly, FNNCI Vice-Chair Chandra Dhakal said that there was no alternative to all business houses to participate in the scheme as the labour act and social security act have been formulated at tripartite consensus. He said that social security scheme has become a strong basis of a country’s prosperity after developing good labour relation.

Dhakal further said, “We are fully committed to participate all business houses and workers in social security fund. The FNCCI has focused its attention on it.” Workers participated in the discussion said that although the scheme has been brought for the betterment of workers, they are in confusion in lack of clarity about the scheme.
