In a briefing made with the federal parliamentarians from Sudurpaschim State, State-1 and Bagmati State from PM’s official residence, Prime Minister Oli said it was obvious for the government to introduce ordinances at a time when there was no parliamentary session.

It is the regular and general business of the government to bring ordinances so there is no matter for disputes, Prime Minister’s press advisor Surya Thapa quoted Oli as saying. On the occasion, the PM said the ordinance was introduced not for breaking the party and there was no need to harbor any confusion as the law was brought for the comfort of all parties.

The PM also said that the constitutional commissions remain without office-bearers so the ordinance related to Constitutional Council was brought to make them functional and noted that umpteen efforts were made to forge consensus to that end. During the briefing, PM Oli had asked the lawmakers to inform him if any problem has emerged due to enforcement of lockdown in their respective states and noted it would continue with further restriction till the COVID-19 came to the control.

The Prime Minster is scheduled to hold a similar briefing to the federal lawmakers representing remaining states on Thursday. He is scheduled to hold briefing at 10.30 am with the lawmakers from state-2, at 3.00 pm with state-4 and at 6.00 pm with state-6. RSS
