Kathmandu, October 2 : The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) will offer 25 percent discount to those customers paying the electricity tariffs in advance. The NEA made public this information through a notice issued on Thursday (October 1).
They will get such discount after making the payment within a week from the day their meter is read. According to the NEA, there will also be no any imposition of fine if they pay the electricity tariffs between the 8th and 15th days.
However, according to the notice, five percent fine is imposed if the electricity bills are paid between 16th and 30th day. Similarly, a 10 percent penalty is slapped while making the payments between 31th and 40th day and 25 percent fine is imposed between 41th and 60th day. Electricity is disconnected without prior notice after 60 days of non-payments, the NEA further says.
