Hotels at Ghodepani, Pun Hill reopen

Galeshwor, December 16 : Hotels based at the touristic sites in Myagdi, which remained closed for the past nine months, have reopened today. Similarly, religious shrines are also open. Hotels at Ghodepani and Pun Hill, the tourist destinations along the world famous Annapurna Circuit Trek were closed in late March due to the Covid-19 crisis.

Visitors/ devotees are now allowed to pay homage to shrines such as Galeshwordham, known as the Pashupatinath in the west Myagdi and Maharani Than, among others. It is said all health and safety measures are to be adopted while resuming hotels, restaurants and religious sites. According to Ghodepani-based hotelier Teksar Buddhuja Pun, domestic tourists have already started visiting the area where the investors suffered much to the long closure of the business.

“We are now already to welcome potential guests from home and abroad by adopting all the safety measures,” he said. According to Galeshwor Area Development Trust Office Secretary Ram Bahadur Baniya, arrangements are in place for letting devotees pay homage to the temple. High safety measures have been adopted. Different gates are used to enter and exit the temple. The devotees are required to wash hands with soap and water, wear mask before entering the temple premises.

Myagdi’s Chief District Officer Umakant Adhikari said adoption of required safety is necessary to reopen the closed sectors. With the resumption of hotels and religious sites, the movements of general people have increased here. RSS
