Minister Bhusal has also urged the public to benefit by consuming electricity generated in the country.

She said this while inaugurating the best business skills center in the energy sector today.

“I have reduced the electricity tariff rate for domestic consumption. Once the new tariff rate is implemented, electric stoves will be cheaper than LP gas,” she said.

The Snyder Electric Foundation, in partnership with the Don Bosco Institute, has launched such a center for the first time in Nepal.

Expressing confidence that the trade deficit would be reduced if the electricity produced in the country was consumed, Minister Bhusal said that the government has put electricity generation and consumption at the center for prosperity.

Stating that the Nepal Electricity Authority will provide up to 20 units of electricity free of cost, she informed that it has decided to provide concessional electricity for agricultural irrigation.

She expressed confidence that the people would get relief as soon as the decision is implemented. Mayor of Godavari Municipality Gajendra Maharjan said that it was a matter of pride to have an efficient energy center in the area and to produce efficient manpower.

French Ambassador to Nepal Gilles Bourbao expressed confidence that the establishment of the center would make a significant contribution to job creation and skill development.

Speaking on the occasion, Khagendra Prasad Adhikari, vice-chairman of the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) said that the manpower prepared by the Don Bosco Institute would help in the development of the country. Father Augusti, president of the Nepal Don Bosco Society, said that the manpower produced at the center would provide services to the villages and towns in the rural areas of Nepal.
