Government blacklists 10 construction companies

The Public Procurement Monitoring Office on Wednesday published a public notice blacklisting 10 construction companies including Shailung. Likewise, two Chinese companies are also blacklisted.

Along with Shailung, Chinese Zhongding International Engineering and Changqing Wangbian Company have been blacklisted for three years.

Similarly, Baliya Construction Sunsari, whose owner is Shambhu Khanal, has been blacklisted for one year. The office has blacklisted Johnson Construction and Suppliers Buddhanagar, Kathmandu, owned by Binod Gautam for one year and Just In Time Construction, Pokhara owned by Surendra Basnet, for one year.

Santosh Kumar Bhagat’s Mahalakshmi Wire and Cable Industries Pvt. Ltd. Morang has been blacklisted for two years and 6 months, while Dhiraj Subedi’s Aspial Group of Engineers Morang has been blacklisted for one year.

It is mentioned in the notice that Umesh Kumar Agrawal-owned SurgiMed Distributors Dharan and Nischal Sherma-owned Tumyehang Nirman Seva Panchthar have also been blacklisted for one year.

These companies will not be allowed to participate in any procurement process of the public body during the period of blacklisting. Sharada Adhikari, another owner of Shailung, is a guest of Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal. He has been accused of not being able to work on time after taking various project contracts.
