The 49.95 MW Danakhola Hydropower Project, promoted by Lalu Pate Hydropower Company, has secured Rs 9.96 billion in funding. Of this, Rs 740 million worth of shares have been allocated to locals affected by the project, while Rs 1.74 billion will be invested by operators and promoters.

In addition, Rs 16 billion has been arranged for the 102 MW Upper Marsyangdi Hydropower Project in Lamjung. The project, estimated at a total cost of Rs 21.4 billion, is being funded by Laxmi Sunrise Bank, Global IME Bank, and Prabhu Bank. Once completed, it is expected to generate 583.03 gigawatt hours annually and is slated for completion within four years.

This successful financial arrangement highlights significant progress in Nepal’s hydropower sector, with 20 projects already completing their financial structuring. These developments underline the growing momentum of energy infrastructure projects in the country, aimed at meeting domestic energy needs and boosting economic growth.
