Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has decided to reduce the price of diesel and kerosene by NPR 1 per liter, effective from Saturday. The decision was made during a meeting of the corporation’s board of directors based on the new purchase price of petroleum products received from Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) on February 28, 2025.

According to the new price received from IOC, the purchase price of diesel and kerosene has decreased by NPR 0.90 per liter, while the price of aviation fuel has dropped by NPR 0.42 per liter. However, the purchase price of petrol has increased by NPR 0.50 per liter, and the price of LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) has risen by NPR 6.27 per cylinder.

As per the new adjustment, the price of diesel and kerosene will be as follows:

  • First category areas: NPR 152.50 per liter
  • Second category areas: NPR 154 per liter
  • Third category areas: NPR 155 per liter

Area Classification:

  • First category: Charali, Biratnagar, Birgunj, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi
  • Second category: Surkhet, Dang
  • Third category: Kathmandu, Pokhara, Dipayal

However, the prices of petrol, domestic and international aviation fuel in Kathmandu, and LPG gas will remain unchanged for now.

For international flights from Pokhara and Bhairahawa, NOC has maintained a break-even price (cost price). The corporation stated that the price adjustment has been made based on the new purchase rates received from India. NOC follows a policy of adjusting fuel prices in Nepal based on fluctuations in the cost of petroleum products imported from India, as mentioned in its official press release.
